Found negative, sloppily photographed.
Sunrise. I hope I never take living by the ocean for granted.
Two major reasons I have not been getting much painting done are:
1) very distracted by the sea.
2) Despite zero experience in the maintenance and repair of bicycles, let alone decrepit folding bikes dating from the seventies, I’ve been messing around with the rusty piece of much-loved junk pictured above. Full title Viscount Trusty Delta, informally known as Sexybike.
Sony DSC-HX1, colours heightened in Photoshop CS2.
I now live beside the sea. It looks like this.
So. Still obsessed with these things, 8 months later. River nests, formed by the current rather than any creature.
Is this a sculpture? An installation? Some rubbish I tied to a stick? Pffft, semantics.
I’ve been traveling and writing lately, which hasn’t left much time for painting. I’m in research mode, gathering information about approximately a billion things I am currently interested in or vexed about or in awe of or in love with. Maybe I’ll get around to actually making something some day soon.
In the meantime, here are some photos. I decided to take a trip on the DART train from Dublin to Bray and back last week, for no other reason than to snatch photos out the window and see what happened. Most of them were blurry or mundane (of course) but these I liked.
Further to the previous, here are some rocks. (Rubbish Hitachi + colours heightened in Photoshop.)
The other thing that’s been occupying my time lately is gadding about on remote islands off the coast of Donegal. Cruit Island, Owey Island, Coffin Island, Periwinkle Island. This photo was taken on Owey. There are several houses on Owey, but no electricity or water mains. This might have been a pub. Then again it might not.
Also, you know what I like? Rocks.
Some of the animals I’ve been stalking spending time around this spring.
